Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-04-20
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and EveryGene (“EveryGene”, “Lived”, “we”, “us”) governing your access to and use of the Lived platform, including our websites, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Lived is
Lived is a patient-first health knowledge platform. It aggregates treatment experiences, community discussions, and structured medical references to help people navigate conditions with context from others who have lived them. Lived is an informational and social tool; it is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a clinical decision support system.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms with you. Accounts registered on behalf of organisations must be created by someone authorised to bind that organisation.
4. Your account
You must provide an accurate email address, choose a strong password, keep your credentials confidential, and not impersonate another person. You are responsible for activity taken under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@everygene.com immediately.
5. Medical disclaimer
Lived is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Content on the Service — including stories, community replies, and AI-assisted summaries — is provided for informational purposes only. Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, and never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you read on the Service. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
6. Content you post
You retain ownership of stories, comments, uploads, and other material you submit (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant EveryGene a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, display, reproduce, translate, and make that User Content available within the Service, and to process it in accordance with your Data Processing consent (see the Data Processing Consent). You are responsible for what you post. You must not share information that identifies a third party (including clinicians, family members, or other patients) without their consent, and you must not post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringing content.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service to solicit medical advice from other users as a substitute for professional care; (b) scrape or bulk-extract content other than via APIs we expose for that purpose; (c) attempt to deanonymise other users or reverse-engineer de-identified aggregates; (d) probe, test, or circumvent security controls; (e) upload malware or abuse rate limits; or (f) use the Service to market regulated products or unapproved therapies.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe continued access presents a risk to the Service or its users. You may delete your account at any time from the profile page; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EveryGene is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) EUR 50.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When a change is material, we will bump the version shown above, announce the change in-product, and — once the re-consent flow ships — prompt you to re-accept on next sign-in. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, unless a mandatory consumer- protection rule requires otherwise.
